TBC Eagles Volleyball played a South Region match against one of Trinity’s biggest rivals as the ladies traveled west on I-10 to visit Pensacola Christian College Saturday evening. Trinity played one of its toughest matches, but Pensacola won in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-13.

Three TBC Eagles — Charity Braemer, Gena Ingram, and Destiny Green — tied for the team lead with four kills each, and Kayla Bass had three. Raven Buytas and Abigail Palacios also picked up kills in the match.

Maggie Bourgholtzer led the team with nine assists, and Palacios followed with five. Bass dug eight balls off the court, and Natalia Lopez dug out seven. Buytas (3) and Ingram (2) had some very nice digs in the effort as well.

Leading Pensacola, Ginger Cannon topped everyone on the court with 11 kills, and Piper Bledsoe served up seven aces and compiled 21 total assists.

On Monday, September 24, Trinity will host St. Johns River State College at 7:30 p.m. and then face Pensacola Christian again on Saturday, September 29, this time on the home court at 6:00 p.m. The next two matches that follow are also home games versus South Region opponent Trinity College of Florida on October 5 and Jacksonville’s NAIA Edward Waters College on October 12.
