TBC Eagles Volleyball begins play on September 7, and the Lady Eagles have brought in talent from all over Florida and beyond. Abigail Palacios hails from Central Florida’s east coast and brings talent and experience to the court as the team prepares for the upcoming season. The Eagles are pleased to welcome her to the roster, the classroom, and the community.
Abigail Palacios — Titusville, FL
Abigail is a graduate of Temple Christian School, where she was the team captain during her senior year. She played varsity volleyball for five years under head coach Stacy Garrison and assistants Noelle Garrison and Christie Lane. Abigail is the daughter of Mr. Miguel Miguel and Mrs. Carmen Palacios.
Abigail made the All-Star team in each of her final two high-school years, and she was Temple’s Most Valuable Player as a senior as she ranked #1 in most statistical categories. She proclaims herself “not much of a spiker,” but she led her team in aces, sets, serves, and top plays. She was the team’s #1 setter “for basically my entire volleyball career.”
Abigail played volleyball for only her high school, but she also played basketball with Temple Christian.
Academically, Abigail has many noteworthy accomplishments:
- — 2018 Class Salutatorian.
- — Graduation with Honors
- — Senior Class Ambassador
- — Principal’s Award for Academic Excellence.
When asked why she chose Trinity Baptist College, Abigail cited the immediate impression she felt upon her tour. “When I visited, it felt like home,” she said. “They made me feel wanted, and I was comfortable. It somewhat reminded me of high school, which was definitely a comfortable feeling. I look forward to making new friends and walking down the paths that God is going to set before me.”
After College, Abigail plans to teach early education and have her own business. Her favorite verse is Psalm 23:3, which says, “He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
Abigail shared some additional thoughts and credits for her selection of Trinity Baptist College. “I just want to thank my mom for being my #1 fan and loving me unconditionally,” she said. “I also want to thank Coach Garrison for teaching me basically everything I know about volleyball and being such an encouragement throughout my years of high school. Coach K and Dr. Christmas, thank you for giving me this opportunity to play the sport that I love. I can’t wait for this year!”
We at Trinity can’t wait to have Abigail as part of the TBC family.
